Truck 23 is a 1987 Ford with a rescue body built by Pierce Manufacturing in Appleton, Wisconsin that the Shawnee Heights Fire District purchased as a support vehicle. The truck was originally built for the Coram, New York Fire Department and also served as an air and light truck for the Topeka Fire Department. Truck 23 is equipped with a large PTO generator, two pneumatically operated light towers, an air cascade system to re-fill Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) at fire scenes and carries equipment for the water rescue team.
