What a great week it’s been! Fire Prevention Week is always a fun-filled and busy week for your SHFD firefighters. In addition to performing nine skits at five different grade schools, we also had a lot of fun giving a few children rides to school in the fire truck!
Over the past couple weeks, 3rd graders from our area schools took part in a fire safety poster contest. The winner from each school earned a ride to school in a fire truck! We’re so proud of all the students who participated and loved seeing their creativity and safety messages shine. This is one of our favorite traditions each year at Shawnee Heights Fire District.
Also, thank you to our area grade schools for “giving us the stage” and allowing us to come and help educate the children on buying, charging, and recycling Lithium-Ion batteries safely!
