This week, SHFD hosted a new hire orientation for the six newest part-time members of our department.
They started out the week by getting sized for their gear, being issued their radios and pagers, receiving uniforms, and learning general Shawnee Heights Fire District policies and procedures.
Over the next several weeks, their training will consist of more hands-on fire and medical components. These probationary firefighters will work alongside our full-time staff to assist in daily operations.
So look for these new faces while we are out and about, and please be sure to say hello! We are excited to have them aboard and look forward to watching them do great things for our community.
